Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex electronic and mechanical components using blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to meet stringent quality standards.
  • Perform functional and environmental testing on assemblies, including pressure, thermal, and vibration tests, while troubleshooting failures using diagnostic tools.
  • Calibrate test equipment and maintain accurate records in Honeywell's quality management system (QMS).
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with AS9100 and IPC standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement process improvements and root cause analysis for defects.
  • Operate automated assembly and test machinery, adhering to Lean manufacturing principles and safety protocols.
  • Support production schedules by meeting daily quotas and participating in continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen events.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3+ years of experience in assembly and testing of electronic/mechanical assemblies (experience)
  • IPC-A-610 certification or equivalent soldering and assembly experience (experience)
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOM) (experience)
  • Experience with test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and environmental chambers (experience)
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes and ESD (electrostatic discharge) protocols (experience)
  • Ability to obtain security clearance if required for defense-related projects (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field (experience)
  • J-STD-001 soldering certification (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments (experience)
  • Familiarity with Honeywell or similar ERP systems like SAP (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Precisely assemble electronic and mechanical sub-assemblies using hand tools, torque wrenches, and automated equipment per engineering specifications
  • Execute comprehensive test procedures including in-circuit, functional, and burn-in testing to validate product performance
  • Diagnose and repair assembly defects using root cause analysis tools like 8D methodology and fishbone diagrams
  • Document test results, non-conformances, and corrective actions in digital quality systems for traceability
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring compliance with 5S and safety standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and optimize production workflows
  • Mentor junior technicians and participate in training sessions to uphold team competency
