Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, modeling, and simulation of complex electromechanical systems, including dynamic modeling of actuators, motors, and control loops for aerospace applications.
  • Develop and validate advanced control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink, ensuring robust performance under varying environmental conditions.
  • Mentor and guide cross-functional engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Conduct failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments to ensure compliance with DO-178C and DO-254 standards.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and hardware teams to integrate electromechanical dynamics into full vehicle architectures.

  • 10+ years of experience in electromechanical systems design, dynamics, and control, with at least 5 years in aerospace or high-reliability industries (experience)
  • Proven expertise in dynamic modeling, simulation, and control of electromechanical actuators and mechanisms (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace certification standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A (experience)
  • Demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary engineering teams (experience)
  • U.S. Person status (citizen or permanent resident) due to ITAR/EAR requirements (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering with focus on dynamics and control (experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certifications (e.g., INCOSE CSEP) (experience)
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and optimize electromechanical control systems for aircraft flight controls, landing gear, and propulsion applications
  • Perform multibody dynamics simulations using tools like Adams, Simpack, or ANSYS to predict system behavior
  • Develop state-space models and implement feedback control strategies for stability and performance
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for electromechanical system anomalies
  • Interface with suppliers to specify and qualify components like brushless DC motors and servo amplifiers
