We are seeking a dynamic Director Strategic Planning to join our Honeywell Aerospace (HTS AERO) engineering organization in India. As a Growth Leader, you will accelerate the innovation culture and mindset across the engineering teams, ensuring a robust pipeline of ideas that evolve into New Product Introductions (NPIs) and Business Transformation Initiatives (BTIs). This role is pivotal in driving organic growth through short-term Rate Modification Upgrades (RMU) and medium-term strategic initiatives, positioning HTS AERO as a leader in aerospace innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic planning frameworks to foster innovation, identifying high-potential ideas from engineering teams and converting them into actionable NPIs and BTIs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to build and maintain a healthy ideation pipeline, prioritizing projects that deliver short-term RMU wins and medium-term growth opportunities.
  • Cultivate an innovation culture by implementing training programs, workshops, and metrics to measure idea generation, conversion rates, and business impact.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align strategic plans with Honeywell's aerospace portfolio goals, including market analysis and competitive benchmarking.
  • Drive organic growth initiatives by assessing technology roadmaps, resource allocation, and risk management for engineering projects.
  • Monitor KPIs such as pipeline velocity, innovation ROI, and growth contributions, reporting insights to executive stakeholders.
  • Partner with global HTS AERO teams to integrate India-based innovations into broader aerospace solutions.

  • Proven track record of driving organic growth through product innovation and new business initiatives (experience)
  • 5+ years in leadership roles managing cross-functional engineering or R&D teams (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace technologies, NPIs, or engineering project pipelines (experience)
  • Strong understanding of short-term upgrade programs (e.g., RMU) and medium-term strategic planning (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Engineering Management (experience)
  • Certification in Innovation Management (e.g., from IDEO U or similar) or Six Sigma Black Belt (experience)
  • International experience in global aerospace organizations or Honeywell ecosystem (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and champion innovation frameworks to accelerate idea generation and conversion into NPIs and BTIs across HTS AERO engineering
  • Lead the development of a prioritized pipeline for short-term RMU projects and medium-term growth initiatives
  • Foster an innovation mindset through targeted programs, mentoring, and cultural transformation efforts
  • Conduct market and technology assessments to inform strategic planning and organic growth strategies
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and commercial teams to align initiatives with business objectives
  • Establish and track KPIs for innovation health, pipeline efficiency, and growth impact
  • Advise senior executives on resource allocation, risk mitigation, and strategic opportunities in aerospace
