Director, User Experience Design

Location: International (Hybrid Workplace)

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the UX design strategy, overseeing end-to-end design processes from research to prototyping and implementation.
  • Lead a team of 15+ UX designers, researchers, and writers, mentoring talent and driving performance to deliver world-class digital products.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate user insights into aerospace software, IoT platforms, and enterprise applications.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and analytics to inform design decisions and optimize experiences for diverse global audiences.
  • Champion design thinking methodologies, ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and compliance with industry standards like WCAG.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align UX initiatives with business objectives, presenting data-driven insights and roadmaps.
  • Drive innovation through emerging technologies like AI-driven personalization and AR/VR interfaces for Honeywell's smart building solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related field (experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing design teams (experience)
  • Proven track record leading UX strategy for enterprise software, SaaS platforms, or IoT products in tech or industrial sectors (experience)
  • Experience in agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering and product management (experience)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design processes from research to launch (experience)
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 20% for team collaborations and client engagements (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in HCI, Design Thinking, or MBA (experience)
  • Certifications in UX research (e.g., Nielsen Norman Group) or design tools (e.g., Google UX Design) (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or B2B tech industries (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive UX design vision and roadmap aligned with Honeywell's product portfolio
  • Lead user research initiatives, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing to uncover insights and validate designs
  • Oversee the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools like Figma and Adobe XD
  • Mentor and grow a global UX team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs in web and mobile applications
  • Analyze UX metrics (e.g., NPS, task success rates) to iterate on designs and demonstrate ROI to stakeholders
