Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate analogue and digital hardware circuits for electronic controllers used in aerospace applications, from concept to production.
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection using tools like Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.
  • Conduct simulations, prototyping, and rigorous testing (including environmental, EMC, and DO-160 compliance) to ensure reliability in harsh aerospace environments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including firmware engineers, systems architects, and certification specialists, to integrate hardware into full avionics systems.
  • Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analyses (FMEA) adhering to aerospace standards such as ARP4754A and ARP4761.
  • Support manufacturing transition, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing design improvements for cost and performance optimization.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in hardware design processes.

  • 5+ years of experience in full lifecycle analogue and digital hardware design (experience)
  • Proven experience in aerospace, defence, or highly regulated industries with familiarity in DO-160, DO-254, or equivalent standards (experience)
  • Hands-on expertise in schematic design, PCB layout, and hardware prototyping (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of mixed-signal design, power electronics, and signal integrity (experience)
  • Experience with design verification, including simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB) and lab testing (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Certifications such as IPC-A-610, ASQ CQE, or aerospace-specific qualifications (experience)
  • Experience with RTCA/DO-254 hardware development assurance processes (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize analogue/digital circuits for electronic controllers, ensuring compliance with aerospace safety and performance standards
  • Create detailed schematics, BOMs, and PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools
  • Execute full design lifecycle including requirements analysis, prototyping, testing, and certification support
  • Perform worst-case analysis, thermal management, and EMC/EMI testing for robust hardware solutions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate hardware with embedded software and system-level architectures
  • Lead root cause analysis for hardware failures and implement corrective actions
  • Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM) and support qualification testing for production release
