ELV Engineer

Location: International (Hybrid Workplace)

Overview

We are seeking a talented ELV (Extra Low Voltage) Engineer to join our global team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain advanced ELV systems including fire alarm, CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, public address, and building automation systems for mission-critical facilities worldwide. As part of Honeywell's Building Technologies division, you will contribute to innovative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability in smart buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer ELV systems including fire detection, security surveillance, access control, and PA systems in compliance with international standards such as NFPA, BS 5839, EN 54, and local codes.
  • Conduct site surveys, prepare detailed technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Lead installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of ELV systems, ensuring seamless integration with BMS and other building management platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex ELV issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Stay updated on emerging ELV technologies like IP-based systems, IoT integration, and AI-driven analytics to drive innovation.
  • Ensure all installations meet health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and conduct risk assessments.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in ELV systems design, installation, and commissioning (experience)
  • Proficiency in international standards for fire alarm (NFPA/BS 5839), CCTV, access control, and security systems (experience)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and ELV design software (experience)
  • Proven track record in managing ELV projects from conception to handover (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as NICET, CFPS, or PMP (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell or similar BMS/ELV platforms and IoT integrations (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design comprehensive ELV solutions including fire detection, CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and PA systems using industry-standard tools
  • Perform site assessments and develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and material take-offs
  • Oversee procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of ELV infrastructure ensuring zero defects
  • Integrate ELV systems with building automation and SCADA systems for optimal performance
  • Conduct FAT/SAT, troubleshoot faults, and provide as-built documentation and training
  • Collaborate with architects, MEP teams, and clients to align on project requirements and deliverables
  • Monitor project progress, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
