Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test embedded software/firmware for microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Implement low-level drivers, communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN), and sensor interfaces.
  • Debug and optimize code for performance, power efficiency, and reliability using tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate firmware with PCB designs and perform hardware-software co-verification.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., MISRA, DO-178C).
  • Support system-level integration, troubleshooting, and field testing of embedded products.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies in IoT, edge computing, and embedded security.

  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC) and RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr) (experience)
  • Understanding of embedded hardware concepts including peripherals, interrupts, and power management (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent (experience)
  • Experience with embedded Linux, wireless protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi), or safety-critical systems (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or Embedded Systems Professional (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain firmware for embedded devices using C/C++ and assembly language
  • Create and integrate peripheral drivers for sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging using JTAG, SWD, and emulation tools
  • Optimize algorithms for real-time performance and low-power consumption in battery-operated devices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and system architecture
  • Document code, design decisions, and test results per Honeywell's quality standards
  • Support prototype development, lab validation, and production deployment
