Embedded Engineer I

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and debug embedded firmware for microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS) in safety-critical environments.
  • Design low-level drivers and interfaces for sensors, actuators, and communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and validation of embedded software using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and quality assurance to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Optimize code for performance, power consumption, and memory efficiency in resource-constrained environments.
  • Document designs, code, and test procedures adhering to industry standards like MISRA C and DO-178C.
  • Support root cause analysis and resolution of field issues to enhance product reliability.

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development (freshers with strong projects/internships considered) (experience)
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems (experience)
  • Experience with microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex-M, AVR, PIC) (experience)
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or Zephyr (experience)
  • Understanding of embedded hardware concepts including peripherals and debugging tools (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB Foundation (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical standards (DO-178C, ISO 26262) or industrial protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, and test embedded firmware for microcontrollers targeting aerospace and industrial applications
  • Implement and optimize communication drivers for protocols like CAN, Ethernet, and wireless interfaces
  • Conduct hardware-software integration testing and debug complex system-level issues
  • Develop automated test scripts using Python or C for regression and performance validation
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical documentation and compliance artifacts
  • Analyze power, performance, and memory metrics to meet stringent product requirements
  • Collaborate with global teams to support product lifecycle from concept to deployment
