Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and debug embedded firmware for microcontrollers and processors used in Honeywell's avionics and control systems.
  • Implement real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal applications to meet stringent performance and safety requirements.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and validation of embedded software using tools like JTAG debuggers and oscilloscopes.
  • Optimize code for low-power consumption and high reliability in harsh environments.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to define interfaces and ensure seamless system integration.
  • Document designs, create technical reports, and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Support root cause analysis and resolution of field issues for deployed embedded systems.

  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex, PIC, AVR) and peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) (experience)
  • Understanding of real-time systems and interrupt handling (experience)
  • Familiarity with embedded development tools like Keil, IAR, or GCC compilers (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or related field (experience)
  • Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS or MQX (experience)
  • Knowledge of safety-critical standards like DO-178C or MISRA C (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded systems (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, and test embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems ensuring compliance with functional and performance specifications
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, and communication protocols into embedded applications for industrial and aerospace products
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware-software interactions using lab equipment and simulation tools
  • Develop and maintain board support packages (BSP) and device drivers for new hardware platforms
  • Conduct static code analysis and peer reviews to uphold code quality and security standards
  • Collaborate with systems engineers to define software requirements and architecture for embedded solutions
  • Participate in agile sprints to deliver incremental features and support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
