Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS) in safety-critical applications.
  • Develop firmware for sensor integration, signal processing, and control algorithms using C/C++.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and quality assurance to ensure robust product delivery.
  • Optimize code for low-power consumption and high-performance in resource-constrained environments.
  • Document designs, create technical reports, and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.
  • Support product validation and certification processes compliant with industry standards like DO-178C or MISRA.

  • Understanding of embedded hardware protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN (experience)
  • Familiarity with debugging tools and version control systems (e.g., Git) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or related field (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical systems (e.g., aerospace or automotive standards) (experience)
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel development or wireless protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems using C/C++ and assembly
  • Integrate peripherals and sensors, implementing drivers for communication interfaces like I2C, SPI, and Ethernet
  • Conduct thorough testing including unit tests, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations, and performance profiling
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to resolve PCB-level issues and ensure seamless software-hardware integration
  • Optimize algorithms for real-time performance, power efficiency, and reliability in embedded environments
  • Participate in design reviews, agile sprints, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Support system-level verification and contribute to compliance with industry standards such as MISRA C and ISO 26262
