Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for real-time systems using C/C++ on microcontrollers and ARM-based processors.
  • Develop and debug firmware for sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces in safety-critical environments.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and validation of embedded systems to ensure compliance with industry standards like MISRA and DO-178C.
  • Optimize code for performance, power consumption, and memory efficiency in resource-constrained environments.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and resolve integration issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives using tools like Git, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production environments, supporting product lifecycle from concept to deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development for industrial or aerospace applications (experience)
  • Proven experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or Zephyr (experience)
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and debugging tools like GDB, JTAG, and oscilloscopes (experience)
  • Experience with embedded Linux, device drivers, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) (experience)
  • Familiarity with safety-critical standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-178C) and version control systems (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded systems (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer) or Agile/Scrum (experience)
  • Experience with IoT platforms, wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee), or model-based development (MATLAB/Simulink) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers and SoCs in real-time applications
  • Implement and test communication stacks for protocols like Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and CANopen
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and static analysis to ensure code quality and security
  • Integrate hardware-software components and perform system-level testing using HIL/SIL environments
  • Document designs, APIs, and test procedures for maintainability and regulatory compliance
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical roadmaps and innovation initiatives
  • Analyze field issues, perform root cause analysis, and deploy firmware updates via OTA mechanisms
