Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded software for microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS) in safety-critical applications.
- Develop and optimize low-level drivers, firmware, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, I2C).
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and emulators.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
- Conduct code reviews, maintain version control with Git, and adhere to MISRA C and DO-178C standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in embedded systems, improving reliability and power efficiency.
- Document designs, specifications, and test results to support regulatory compliance and knowledge transfer.

- Hands-on experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks) and microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex, AVR) (experience)
- Strong understanding of embedded systems debugging and hardware-software integration (experience)
- Experience with safety-critical standards such as MISRA, DO-178C, or ISO 26262 (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent (experience)
- Certifications in embedded development (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer, ISTQB) (experience)
- Experience with aerospace avionics or industrial IoT protocols (e.g., ARINC 429, Modbus) (experience)
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers in real-time systems, ensuring low-latency performance
- Implement and optimize communication interfaces including UART, SPI, CAN, and Ethernet for device interoperability
- Lead debugging and root-cause analysis of firmware issues using advanced tools like Lauterbach TRACE32 or Green Hills MULTI
- Collaborate with hardware teams to define board bring-up procedures and peripheral drivers
- Conduct thorough unit, integration, and system-level testing with frameworks like Unity or Ceedling
- Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards and safety certifications
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
