Embedded Engineer II

Location: India | Workplace: On-site

In this role, you will design, develop, and test embedded software for cutting-edge aerospace, industrial automation, and safety-critical systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for real-time systems using C/C++ on microcontrollers and ARM-based processors.
  • Develop and optimize device drivers, firmware, and low-level protocols for hardware interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
  • Conduct code reviews, maintain version control with Git, and adhere to MISRA C and DO-178C safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex embedded system issues in production environments.
  • Document designs, APIs, and test procedures to support product lifecycle management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development for real-time systems (experience)
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded environments (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, STM32, NXP) (experience)
  • Strong understanding of RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr) and bare-metal programming (experience)
  • Experience with embedded debugging tools and hardware protocols (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded systems (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer, ISTQB) (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical standards like DO-178C, ISO 26262, or Functional Safety (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded firmware for sensors, actuators, and control systems in aerospace and industrial applications
  • Optimize low-level drivers and algorithms for power efficiency and real-time performance
  • Lead integration and validation of embedded systems with hardware prototypes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and interfaces
  • Perform static code analysis, unit testing, and system-level verification
  • Support product deployment, field testing, and root-cause analysis for embedded issues
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in embedded development
