Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for real-time systems using C/C++ on microcontrollers and DSPs.
  • Develop and debug firmware for hardware platforms, including sensor integration and communication protocols.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and validation of embedded systems to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards like MISRA and DO-178C.
  • Optimize code for performance, power efficiency, and memory constraints in resource-limited environments.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and resolve integration issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives using tools like Git, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production environments, supporting product lifecycle from concept to deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development (experience)
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex, STM32) and real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or VxWorks (experience)
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN (experience)
  • Experience with debugging tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded systems (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer) or safety-critical standards (e.g., DO-178C) (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace or industrial automation domains (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded firmware for control systems and IoT devices using low-level drivers and bare-metal programming
  • Lead debugging and root-cause analysis of firmware issues in lab and field environments
  • Implement communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP) for device interoperability
  • Conduct static code analysis and ensure adherence to coding standards and cybersecurity best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware prototypes and perform system-level testing
  • Document designs, APIs, and test procedures for maintainability and knowledge transfer
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical roadmaps for embedded platforms
