Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for microcontrollers and processors using C/C++ in resource-constrained environments.
  • Develop and debug real-time operating systems (RTOS) drivers, firmware, and communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
  • Optimize code for power efficiency, memory usage, and deterministic performance in safety-critical systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and resolve integration issues.
  • Conduct code reviews, maintain version control with Git, and ensure adherence to coding standards like MISRA C.
  • Support product lifecycle from concept through deployment, including documentation and compliance with DO-178C or ISO 26262 standards where applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development for industrial or aerospace applications (experience)
  • Proven experience with embedded C/C++ programming on ARM Cortex-M, Renesas, or similar microcontrollers (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or VxWorks (experience)
  • Familiarity with embedded hardware debugging tools and peripherals (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile development environment (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related field (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded systems (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer) or functional safety (e.g., ISTQB) (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace standards like DO-178C or automotive ISO 26262 (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop low-level firmware and drivers for sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces
  • Implement and optimize real-time embedded applications ensuring low latency and high reliability
  • Lead debugging and root cause analysis of complex hardware-software integration issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and interfaces
  • Perform static and dynamic code analysis using tools like Coverity or LDRA
  • Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and certification artifacts
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in development processes
