Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for microcontrollers and processors using C/C++ in resource-constrained environments.
  • Develop and debug real-time operating systems (RTOS) applications, ensuring low-latency performance and fault tolerance.
  • Perform hardware-software integration, including peripheral interfacing (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) and board bring-up activities.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation using tools like JTAG debuggers and oscilloscopes.
  • Optimize firmware for power efficiency, memory usage, and performance in safety-critical systems compliant with DO-178C or ISO 26262 standards.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, firmware teams, and product managers to define requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, documentation, and agile development processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development (experience)
  • Proven experience with C/C++ programming for embedded systems (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC) and real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) (experience)
  • Familiarity with embedded debugging tools and hardware protocols (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in agile environments (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or related field (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded systems (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer) or safety standards (DO-178C) (experience)
  • Experience with IoT protocols (MQTT, BLE) or Linux kernel development (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded firmware for complex control systems using C/C++ and assembly
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces in embedded platforms
  • Implement and test real-time algorithms for signal processing and control loops
  • Perform static code analysis, unit testing, and CI/CD pipeline integration
  • Troubleshoot and resolve firmware issues during prototyping and production phases
  • Document designs, APIs, and test procedures for compliance and knowledge transfer
  • Contribute to system-level design reviews and risk assessments
