Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS) in safety-critical applications.
  • Develop firmware for sensor integration, communication protocols, and low-power devices used in aerospace and industrial controls.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Optimize code for performance, memory efficiency, and reliability in resource-constrained environments.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as DO-178C, MISRA C, and ISO 26262 for functional safety.
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development (experience)
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks) and bare-metal programming (experience)
  • Experience with embedded hardware debugging tools and protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) (experience)
  • Knowledge of embedded Linux and device drivers (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (experience)
  • Certifications such as ISTQB, ARM Accredited Engineer, or MISRA compliance (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace or automotive embedded systems (DO-178C, AUTOSAR) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers in real-time applications
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces into embedded systems
  • Conduct thorough testing, including unit, integration, and system-level validation
  • Optimize algorithms for power consumption, latency, and deterministic performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into software designs
  • Document designs, perform peer code reviews, and maintain version control with Git
  • Support product deployment, field testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
