Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for microcontrollers and processors using C/C++ in resource-constrained environments.
  • Develop and debug real-time operating systems (RTOS) applications, ensuring low-latency performance and fault tolerance.
  • Perform hardware-software integration, including peripheral interfacing (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) and firmware optimization.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation using tools like JTAG debuggers and oscilloscopes.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, firmware teams, and product managers to define requirements and resolve technical challenges.
  • Optimize code for power efficiency, memory usage, and performance in safety-critical applications compliant with standards like MISRA and DO-178C.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development (experience)
  • Proven experience with C/C++ programming for embedded systems (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC) and real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) (experience)
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware protocols and debugging tools (experience)
  • Experience with version control systems like Git and agile development methodologies (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB Embedded Tester (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or industrial IoT domains with familiarity to safety standards (ISO 26262, DO-178) (experience)

  • Architect and develop firmware for embedded systems targeting low-power and high-reliability applications
  • Implement and optimize drivers for sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces
  • Lead debugging and root cause analysis for complex system issues using advanced tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration and product readiness
  • Perform code optimization and profiling to meet performance, power, and memory constraints
  • Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and compliance documentation
