Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS) in safety-critical applications.
  • Develop firmware for sensor integration, communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, I2C), and low-power devices.
  • Perform debugging, testing, and optimization of embedded systems using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless hardware-software integration and resolve interface issues.
  • Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to maintain code quality and compliance with industry standards (e.g., MISRA, DO-178).
  • Support product lifecycle from requirements analysis through deployment and maintenance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical documentation and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software development (experience)
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems (experience)
  • Experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks) and bare-metal programming (experience)
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC) (experience)
  • Knowledge of embedded debugging tools and hardware protocols (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace standards (DO-178C, ARP4754A) or automotive (AUTOSAR) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded firmware for resource-constrained devices ensuring real-time performance and reliability
  • Implement communication interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi)
  • Optimize algorithms for power efficiency, memory usage, and computational performance
  • Lead debugging and root cause analysis for complex system-level issues using advanced tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and validate designs
  • Perform static code analysis, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Document designs, APIs, and test results for knowledge transfer and regulatory audits
