Engineering Hardware Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate hardware procurement, tracking, and distribution for engineering projects, ensuring timely availability of components for prototyping and testing.
  • Manage SAP transactions for material requests, inventory control, and bill of materials (BOM) maintenance to support NPI workflows.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between design engineers, manufacturing teams, and supply chain to resolve hardware-related issues.
  • Conduct hardware audits, inspections, and compliance checks to meet aerospace quality standards such as AS9100.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for hardware configurations, change orders, and engineering change notices (ECNs) within SAP systems.
  • Analyze hardware usage data to optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and minimize costs in product development cycles.
  • Support root cause analysis for hardware discrepancies and implement corrective actions to enhance process reliability.

  • Proficiency in SAP ERP systems, including modules for materials management (MM) and production planning (PP) (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with aerospace hardware components, BOM management, and NPI processes (experience)
  • Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ITAR compliance) (experience)
  • Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management (experience)
  • SAP certification (e.g., SAP MM or SAP S/4HANA) (experience)
  • Experience with mechanical aerospace component design and testing (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the sourcing, receipt, and allocation of engineering hardware to support prototyping and development timelines
  • Execute SAP processes for purchase requisitions, goods receipts, and inventory adjustments to maintain accurate stock levels
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to resolve hardware shortages and quality issues
  • Perform regular hardware kitting, labeling, and storage organization in compliance with aerospace regulations
  • Track project hardware requirements and generate reports on usage, costs, and variances for NPI reviews
  • Assist in engineering change management by updating hardware specifications in SAP and related documentation systems
  • Conduct hardware inspections and support failure analysis to ensure product reliability and performance
