Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans for aerospace components, including environmental, vibration, and performance testing protocols.
  • Operate and maintain test equipment such as data acquisition systems, sensors, and automated test rigs.
  • Analyze test data using tools like MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Python to identify anomalies and recommend design improvements.
  • Document test procedures, results, and reports in compliance with industry standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD).
  • Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures and support root cause analysis.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to risk assessments for new product developments.
  • Assist in lab setup, calibration, and safety protocols to ensure a high-quality testing environment.

Summary

  • Basic understanding of test engineering principles, including data acquisition and analysis (experience)
  • Availability for a 12-month full-time internship with hybrid on-site presence in Mississauga, ON (experience)
  • Strong academic record (minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 or equivalent) (experience)
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada (or eligibility for internship visa) (experience)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior coursework or projects in test automation, vibration testing, or environmental simulation (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment or internships in engineering/testing (experience)
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (e.g., RTCA DO-160, FAA regulations) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans for aerospace hardware, simulating real-world conditions like temperature extremes and structural loads
  • Collect, process, and analyze test data using statistical methods to validate product performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot test failures through systematic root cause analysis and collaborate on corrective actions
  • Develop scripts and automation routines in Python or LabVIEW to streamline test execution and data logging
  • Prepare detailed test reports and presentations for engineering review meetings
  • Support equipment calibration, maintenance, and inventory management in the test lab
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, such as optimizing test processes for efficiency
