Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 10-15 engineers in designing, developing, and deploying advanced commercial fire alarm and detection systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA, UL, and international standards.
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle from concept to commercialization, including requirements gathering, prototyping, testing, and certification.
  • Drive technical innovation by integrating IoT, AI, and cloud technologies into fire safety platforms to enhance detection accuracy and predictive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and quality assurance, to align engineering efforts with market needs and customer requirements.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, agile methodologies, and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources while mitigating risks in complex engineering programs.
  • Represent engineering in customer meetings and industry forums to gather insights and promote Honeywell's fire safety portfolio.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering roles within the fire safety, building automation, or security industry (experience)
  • 5+ years of people management experience leading engineering teams (experience)
  • Proven track record of delivering commercial fire detection or suppression products from concept to market (experience)
  • Deep knowledge of fire safety standards (NFPA 72, UL 268, EN54) and regulatory compliance (experience)
  • Experience with embedded systems, IoT integration, and software/hardware co-design (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration (experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems (experience)
  • Experience with AI/ML applications in safety systems or Honeywell's building technologies (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Direct the design and development of next-generation commercial fire detection and alarm systems using embedded software, sensors, and wireless networks
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex technical issues in fire safety products
  • Manage engineering roadmaps, prioritizing features based on customer feedback and emerging technologies
  • Coordinate with global R&D teams to integrate scalable fire safety solutions across Honeywell's portfolio
  • Conduct performance reviews, hiring, and talent development to build a world-class engineering team
