Overview
As an Estimator II at Honeywell, you will play a pivotal role in our Estimating team, developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for complex projects across our aerospace, building technologies, performance materials, and safety solutions portfolios. Reporting directly to the Estimating Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and project management to ensure bids align with strategic objectives, drive win rates, and support Honeywell's sustained growth in the Indian market. Based in our state-of-the-art facility in Pune, Maharashtra, this hybrid role offers flexibility to balance office collaboration with remote productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and overheads using industry-standard tools and historical data analysis.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and scopes of work to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to validate assumptions and refine estimates for competitiveness without compromising profitability.
- Conduct bid reviews and provide recommendations to improve estimate accuracy and bid success rates.
- Maintain estimating databases, track actuals vs. estimates, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support tender submissions by preparing cost breakdowns, clarifications, and negotiation packages.

Summary
As an Estimator II here at Honeywell, you will develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects, ensuring successful bids and supporting organizational growth. Collaborate with teams to align estimates with objectives. You will report directly to our Estimating Manager and you’ll work out of our Pune, Maharashtra location on a Hybrid work schedule.

- Proven track record in preparing accurate estimates for bids ranging from INR 5-50 crores (experience)
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Candy, Bluebeam Revu, or CostX (experience)
- Strong understanding of Indian market rates, labor norms, and material pricing dynamics (experience)
- Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying (experience)
- Professional certifications like RICS, ASQ, or IEI membership (experience)
- Experience in aerospace or industrial automation sectors (experience)
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates including direct and indirect costs for complex projects using advanced methodologies
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and RFPs to build realistic cost models
- Perform risk assessments and sensitivity analyses to support robust bid strategies
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and validate pricing
- Present estimates to senior management and participate in bid/no-bid decisions
- Track project cost variances post-award and update estimating databases for future accuracy
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to team process improvements
