Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on measurement and control systems, including sensors, actuators, PLCs, and SCADA interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex faults in building automation systems using diagnostic tools and Honeywell's proprietary software.
  • Install, commission, and calibrate new measurement and regulation equipment to meet LUMC's stringent operational standards.
  • Conduct system performance analyses and optimizations to ensure energy efficiency and compliance with Dutch building codes (e.g., BRL 100).
  • Collaborate with LUMC facility managers, Honeywell engineering teams, and third-party vendors to execute service contracts and upgrades.
  • Document all service activities, generate detailed reports, and maintain accurate records in Honeywell's service management platform.
  • Provide on-site training to client staff and respond to emergency service calls 24/7 as part of a rotating schedule.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to work on-site at LUMC with occasional international travel (experience)
  • Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken) (experience)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, including shift/on-call rotations (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Automation, Control Systems, or equivalent (experience)
  • Certifications such as VCA-VOL, NEN 3140, or Honeywell Building Controls certification (experience)
  • Experience in healthcare facility management systems or cleanroom environments (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Execute installation, calibration, and testing of measurement instruments and control loops for HVAC and process automation
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, pneumatic, and digital control system malfunctions using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and software diagnostics
  • Perform regular inspections and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime in critical medical infrastructure
  • Optimize control algorithms and PID tuning for energy-efficient operation compliant with EU energy directives
  • Liaise with client stakeholders to develop service plans, upgrade recommendations, and compliance documentation
  • Update and maintain digital twins and as-built drawings in Honeywell's Forge platform
  • Support 24/7 emergency response, ensuring rapid restoration of building control systems
