Based out of our Elizabeth, NJ location, you will deliver high-level technical support for advanced building automation systems and HVAC controls. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert troubleshooting and diagnostics on Honeywell building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls, DDC (Direct Digital Controls), and related instrumentation.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to ensure 99.9% system uptime for critical building operations.
  • Conduct comprehensive system commissioning, calibration, and optimization using tools like Niagara Framework and Honeywell WEBs platforms.
  • Train customers, end-users, and junior technicians on system operation, troubleshooting best practices, and safety protocols.
  • Document all service activities, generate detailed reports, and recommend proactive solutions to prevent future issues.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project teams to support installations and expansions of BAS and HVAC solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASHRAE, NEC, and local building codes while prioritizing safety.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Field Service Technician in building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls (experience)
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing DDC systems, PLCs, sensors, actuators, and pneumatic controls (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50% within the Northeast US region (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell or competitor platforms (e.g., Johnson Controls, Siemens, Tridium Niagara) (experience)
  • EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Building Automation (experience)
  • Honeywell WEBS, Niagara N4, or LonWorks certifications (experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC service with supervisory experience (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex faults in building automation networks, HVAC controllers, and integrated systems using diagnostic software and tools
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs, including cleaning, calibration, and firmware updates to maximize system reliability
  • Commission new BAS installations, integrating HVAC, lighting, and fire safety controls for seamless operation
  • Deliver hands-on training sessions for clients and team members on system functionality and advanced troubleshooting
  • Generate accurate service reports, as-built drawings, and parts requisitions using Honeywell's service management software
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify upgrade opportunities and implement energy-efficient solutions
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA standards and conducting risk assessments on job sites
