Overview

As a Fräs Mechaniker (m/w/d) - Assembly Mechanic Level 2 at Honeywell, you will play a pivotal role in assembling and testing complex mechanical systems for our aerospace and industrial technologies divisions. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise milling operations on metallic and composite materials using CNC Fräsmaschinen (milling machines) to produce high-tolerance components for aircraft engines and industrial systems.
  • Assemble intricate mechanical subsystems, including integration of precision-machined parts, bearings, and fasteners, adhering to engineering drawings and Honeywell quality protocols.
  • Conduct functional and pressure tests on assembled units to verify performance, identifying and resolving defects to maintain zero-escape quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain advanced machining tools, including 3- to 5-axis CNC mills, ensuring optimal tool setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot assembly issues, propose process improvements, and support root cause analysis using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Document all production activities in SAP and quality management systems, ensuring full traceability and compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 certifications.
  • Adhere to EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) standards, including handling hazardous materials and operating in a cleanroom environment.

  • Familiarity with quality control methods and testing procedures for mechanical components (experience)
  • Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced production environment with strict deadlines (experience)
  • German language proficiency (B2 level or higher); English is a plus for international collaboration (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with aerospace materials such as titanium, Inconel, and composites (experience)
  • Certifications in CNC programming (e.g., Siemens Sinumerik, Heidenhain) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
  • Prior work in an AS9100-certified environment or with SAP manufacturing systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines to fabricate precision parts from engineering specifications
  • Assemble and disassemble complex mechanical systems, ensuring alignment and torque specifications are met
  • Perform in-process inspections using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and other metrology tools
  • Test assembled products under simulated operating conditions, documenting results and non-conformances
  • Optimize machining processes to reduce cycle times while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Maintain tooling inventories and perform routine maintenance on production equipment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events and 5S workplace organization
