Hand Finisher - Level 1

Location: Yecla, Murcia, Spain | Workplace: On-site

Overview

As a Hand Finisher - Level 1 at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in our Advanced Materials division, ensuring the highest levels of product quality and precision through meticulous finishing work on precision components. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, you’ll work out of our state-of-the-art facility in Yecla, Murcia, Spain, on a fully on-site schedule. In this hands-on position, you will contribute to innovative aerospace and industrial solutions by performing detailed manual finishing tasks, deburring, polishing, and inspecting components to meet Honeywell's rigorous standards. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability and performance of products used in mission-critical applications worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise hand finishing operations including deburring, grinding, sanding, and polishing on metal and composite components to achieve exact tolerances.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operate hand tools, air tools, and bench equipment safely while maintaining a clean and organized workstation in line with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Identify and report defects or non-conformances, collaborating with quality assurance teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Support production schedules by meeting daily quotas and adapting to varying workloads in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Adhere to all Honeywell safety protocols, including PPE usage and hazardous material handling, contributing to a zero-incident workplace.

  • Familiarity with composite materials finishing or surface treatment processes (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Execute hand finishing tasks such as deburring edges, removing burrs, and polishing surfaces on aerospace components to meet micron-level tolerances
  • Inspect finished parts for defects using visual aids, CMM, and manual gauges, documenting results in quality management systems
  • Set up and maintain workstations with appropriate tools, abrasives, and fixtures for efficient production flow
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot finishing issues and recommend process improvements
  • Perform in-process quality checks and rework parts as needed to ensure 100% conformance prior to final assembly
  • Maintain accurate production records, including traceability logs and non-conformance reports
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as kaizen events, to enhance finishing processes and reduce cycle times
