Key Responsibilities

We are looking for Hardware Engineering Manager for development of the computing platforms for NPIs & Obsolescence Programs within Honeywell Aerospace.

Skills Required

  • Expertise in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro)intermediate
  • Proficiency in high-speed design, power integrity, and thermal managementintermediate

  • Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzersintermediate

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution (experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role within aerospace or high-reliability industries (experience)
  • Proven track record in developing computing platforms, including NPIs and obsolescence management (experience)
  • Deep knowledge of hardware design processes, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and signal integrity analysis (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace certification standards such as DO-254, ARP4754A, and RTCA/DO-160 (experience)
  • Strong project management skills with expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies for hardware development (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma Green Belt, or IPC-A-610 (experience)
  • Experience with FPGA/ASIC design and high-speed digital interfaces in aerospace applications (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of hardware development for computing platforms, from requirements definition to qualification testing and production release
  • Lead obsolescence resolution efforts, identifying alternatives and qualifying drop-in replacements for legacy components
  • Conduct design reviews, failure mode analysis (FMEA), and worst-case analysis to ensure product robustness
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for multiple concurrent NPI projects while meeting aggressive aerospace timelines
  • Foster partnerships with suppliers and stakeholders to resolve supply chain issues and accelerate time-to-market
  • Implement best practices in hardware engineering, including DFM/DFA and automated testing strategies
  • Provide technical mentorship and performance evaluations for a team of 8-12 hardware engineers
