Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement hardware designs for embedded systems, PCBs, and electromechanical assemblies using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, firmware developers, and manufacturing teams to define requirements, perform trade studies, and ensure design feasibility from concept to production.
  • Conduct schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and signal integrity analysis to create robust, high-performance hardware solutions.
  • Execute comprehensive testing protocols, including environmental, functional, and compliance testing (e.g., EMC, thermal, vibration), and debug issues to meet quality standards.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge transfer on best practices.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product reliability and manufacturability.
  • Support production ramp-up by resolving yield issues, updating documentation, and interfacing with suppliers for component qualification.

  • Proven track record in full lifecycle hardware engineering from concept to production (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and layout tools (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of analog/digital circuit design, power electronics, and signal integrity (experience)
  • Experience with hardware testing, debugging, and compliance standards (e.g., IPC, UL, FCC) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as IPC-A-610 or Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or industrial IoT hardware design (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hardware solutions including PCBs, embedded systems, and mixed-signal circuits using tools like Altium or OrCAD
  • Define and document hardware requirements, perform simulations, and conduct design verification testing
  • Lead prototyping, bring-up, and debugging of hardware assemblies in lab environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware with firmware and software components
  • Mentor junior engineers on design best practices, troubleshooting, and documentation standards
  • Support manufacturing transition by optimizing designs for DFM/DFA and resolving production issues
  • Perform failure analysis, root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions
