Hardware Engineer II

Location: India | Workplace Type: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop analog and digital circuits, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection using tools like Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.
  • Perform hardware prototyping, bring-up, debugging, and validation testing to ensure compliance with industry standards such as IPC, MIL-STD, and DO-160.
  • Conduct signal integrity analysis, power integrity simulations, and thermal management using tools like SPICE, HyperLynx, and ANSYS.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, and systems engineering teams to integrate hardware with embedded systems and ensure seamless functionality.
  • Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis (FMEA) to mitigate issues early in the development cycle.
  • Support manufacturing through design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews and provide production test solutions.
  • Document designs, generate reports, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in hardware engineering processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution (experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in hardware design and development for embedded systems or industrial applications (experience)
  • Proven track record in PCB design, schematic capture, and hardware prototyping (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers (experience)
  • Familiarity with hardware standards and compliance requirements in aerospace or industrial sectors (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex hardware issues (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as IPC Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) or Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
  • Experience with high-speed digital design, RF hardware, or power electronics (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom hardware solutions including mixed-signal circuits and multi-layer PCBs for aerospace and industrial applications
  • Lead hardware bring-up, integration testing, and validation to meet performance, reliability, and safety specifications
  • Perform simulations and analyses for signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal performance using industry-standard tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, and quality engineers to deliver integrated systems
  • Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, and root cause analysis to ensure robust and manufacturable designs
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) through DFM/DFA optimization and production ramp-up activities
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements in hardware development workflows
