Industrial Maintenance Technician, Conveyor Systems (Weekend Shift)

Location: Houston, TX | Workplace: Hybrid | Shift: Weekend (Friday-Sunday, 6am-6pm)

Ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of conveyor systems, PLCs, robotics, sensors, and mechanical components. Reporting to the Field Service Engineering Manager, your hands-on expertise will drive customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and innovation in industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor systems, including belt alignment, roller replacements, and drive motor diagnostics.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled automation systems, sensors, and robotic integrators to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using diagnostic tools and implement solutions for complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Calibrate and test safety systems, ensuring compliance with OSHA and industry standards.
  • Document service activities, generate reports, and provide training to on-site personnel.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize system performance and recommend upgrades.

  • Experience with electrical schematics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems (experience)
  • Ability to work weekend shifts (Friday-Sunday) with on-call availability (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 25% regionally (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Certifications: CMRT, ISA CCST, or OSHA 30 (experience)
  • Experience with robotics (e.g., FANUC, ABB) and VFDs (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair conveyor system failures, including motors, gearboxes, chains, and sensors to restore operations swiftly
  • Program and modify PLC logic for system optimization and integration with warehouse management software
  • Perform vibration analysis, laser alignment, and thermal imaging on mechanical components for predictive maintenance
  • Install and commission new conveyor modules, ensuring seamless integration with existing automation infrastructure
  • Conduct safety audits and lockout/tagout procedures during high-risk maintenance activities
  • Generate detailed service reports and maintain inventory of spare parts using CMMS software
  • Train customer technicians on system operation, troubleshooting, and basic upkeep
