Inspector - Level 3

Location: International (On-site)

Overview

As an Inspector - Level 3 at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in upholding our commitment to product excellence and safety across our aerospace, building technologies, and performance materials divisions. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections on high-precision aerospace components and industrial products using advanced tools like CMM, ultrasonic testers, and borescopes.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to verify part conformance and document non-conformances in quality management systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and in-process audits to ensure production processes align with quality plans and customer requirements.
  • Lead root cause analysis for quality issues using methodologies like 8D, Fishbone, and Six Sigma tools, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain calibration and traceability of inspection equipment, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards and preparing detailed reports for regulatory audits.
  • Train and mentor junior inspectors, fostering a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, on-site production environment.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve quality discrepancies and support Honeywell's global supply chain integrity.

  • Proficiency in inspection techniques including dimensional metrology, NDT (UT, PT, MT, RT), and CMM programming (experience)
  • In-depth knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP (experience)
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) like SAP QM, Minitab, or similar ERP tools (experience)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Quality Management or Engineering (experience)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), CQT, or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification (experience)
  • International experience in multi-site manufacturing operations or supplier quality management (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Execute precise inspections using advanced metrology equipment to validate product dimensions and material integrity against specifications
  • Document and report inspection results, non-conformances, and trends using digital QMS platforms for traceability and audit readiness
  • Perform root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions to eliminate recurring quality defects
  • Conduct supplier audits and first article approvals to ensure external components meet Honeywell standards
  • Calibrate and maintain inspection tools, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards like ISO 17025
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to optimize inspection processes and reduce cycle times
  • Train team members on inspection best practices and lead quality improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
