Key Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering teams in the design, testing, and validation of mechanical and electrical systems for aerospace and industrial applications.
  • Support technical documentation, including creating CAD models, engineering drawings, and test reports using tools like SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Conduct data analysis on product performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and recommend optimizations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in project meetings, prepare progress updates, and contribute to successful project completion under tight deadlines.
  • Shadow senior engineers to learn best practices in engineering support, compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100), and safety protocols.

Summary

As an Intern (Bachelors) - Engineering Support here at Honeywell, you will gain hands-on experience in engineering support, assist in technical guidance, and contribute to successful project completion. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Brno, Czechia location on a Hybrid work schedule.

  • Basic understanding of engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, or electronics (experience)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting (experience)
  • Availability for a full-time internship (6-12 months) on a hybrid schedule in Brno, Czechia (experience)
  • Legal authorization to work in Czechia (EU citizenship or valid work permit preferred) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of relevant coursework in CAD, MATLAB, or programming (e.g., Python) (experience)
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in engineering or manufacturing (experience)
  • Familiarity with Honeywell products or aerospace/industrial standards (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and testing of engineering prototypes by assembling components and running simulations
  • Analyze test data using statistical tools to generate reports and visualize trends for engineering review
  • Maintain engineering databases and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards
  • Assist in failure mode analysis and implement design improvements based on feedback from senior engineers
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate new technologies into existing product lines
  • Participate in safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Six Sigma projects)
  • Prepare technical presentations and contribute to team meetings on project status and milestones
