Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and modeling mechanical components using CAD software for aerospace and industrial applications.
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate designs.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and iteration of mechanical systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and software engineers, to integrate mechanical designs into full systems.
  • Document engineering processes, generate technical reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Summary

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (2nd or 3rd year preferred) (experience)
  • Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent (experience)
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo (experience)
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, thermodynamics, and materials science (experience)
  • Availability for full-time internship (6-12 months) on a hybrid schedule in Mississauga, ON (experience)
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada (students with valid study/work permits eligible) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of relevant coursework in FEA, CFD, or mechatronics (experience)
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in engineering (experience)
  • Familiarity with Honeywell products or aerospace/industrial standards (e.g., ASME, ISO) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and model mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD tools for real-world applications
  • Perform engineering analyses including stress, thermal, and vibration simulations to ensure design integrity
  • Prototype and test mechanical systems, documenting results and recommending design improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and control systems
  • Support root cause analysis and failure investigations using structured problem-solving techniques
  • Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and reports compliant with industry standards
  • Contribute to innovation projects by researching emerging materials and manufacturing technologies
