We are seeking a motivated Internship - Application Engineer to join our global engineering team. In this exciting internship, you will work alongside experienced engineers on the development of innovative applications primarily focused on Honeywell's Asset Performance Management (APM) suite. You will also gain exposure to other industry-leading solutions such as Uniformance PHD for operational information management, HAM for process alarm management, CPAU for control loop monitoring and diagnostics, and APC for advanced process control. This role offers hands-on experience in cutting-edge industrial software solutions, perfect for students pursuing careers in engineering and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop, and test applications integrated with Honeywell APM and related platforms.
  • Assist in configuring and customizing solutions like Uniformance PHD, HAM, CPAU, and APC to meet client-specific industrial needs.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and validation.
  • Analyze operational data and perform diagnostics to optimize asset performance and process control systems.
  • Support testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of application features in simulated and real-world environments.
  • Contribute to agile team sprints, code reviews, and innovation workshops to enhance product capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (experience)
  • Strong academic record with GPA of 3.0 or higher (experience)
  • Basic understanding of industrial automation, process control, or asset management concepts (experience)
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C++, or Java (experience)
  • Availability for full-time internship during summer or academic term (6-12 months preferred) (experience)
  • Legal authorization to work in the internship location (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior coursework or projects in process control systems, SCADA, or DCS (experience)
  • Familiarity with Honeywell software suites (e.g., Experion, Uniformance, or DeltaV) (experience)
  • Experience with data analytics tools or industrial IoT platforms (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate application modules for Honeywell APM suite to enhance asset reliability and predictive maintenance
  • Configure Uniformance PHD systems for real-time operational data collection and visualization
  • Implement HAM alarm management strategies to reduce operator overload and improve process safety
  • Support CPAU deployment for control loop performance monitoring and automated diagnostics
  • Assist in APC model development and tuning for advanced process optimization in manufacturing environments
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance analysis of engineered applications
  • Document technical specifications, user guides, and contribute to knowledge base updates
