IT Site Support Specialist - Manufacturing

Location: Danville, KY | Workplace: 100% On-site (M-F)

Overview

Reporting directly to the Sr. IT Supervisor, you will provide critical on-site IT support for manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless technology integration across production environments. This 100% on-site role (Monday-Friday) offers the chance to work hands-on with cutting-edge industrial systems in a Fortune 100 company renowned for innovation in aerospace, building technologies, and performance materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1-3 technical support for manufacturing floor systems, including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and industrial IoT devices, resolving hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades on end-user devices, servers, printers, and manufacturing-specific equipment such as CNC machines and robotic systems.
  • Collaborate with production teams to deploy and configure IT solutions tailored to manufacturing workflows, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Manage IT asset inventory, including tracking hardware lifecycles and coordinating with vendors for repairs and replacements in a high-volume production setting.
  • Respond to service desk tickets via Honeywell's IT service management system, prioritizing critical manufacturing incidents and documenting resolutions for knowledge base enhancement.
  • Assist in cybersecurity initiatives by monitoring endpoints, applying patches, and educating users on best practices specific to industrial control systems (ICS).
  • Support audio-visual setups for training sessions and conduct periodic audits of IT infrastructure to proactively identify and mitigate potential failures.

  • Proven hands-on experience troubleshooting manufacturing hardware, including PLCs, sensors, and automation systems (experience)
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and enterprise ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) (experience)
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification (experience)
  • Ability to work on-site M-F with occasional overtime during production peaks (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Engineering (experience)
  • ITIL Foundation or CompTIA Network+ certification (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell-specific systems or MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex IT issues on manufacturing floor equipment to ensure 24/7 operational continuity
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, peripherals, and industrial printers in a fast-paced production environment
  • Monitor network performance and connectivity for VoIP phones, wireless access points, and IoT devices supporting assembly lines
  • Lead user training sessions on IT best practices and software tools relevant to manufacturing processes
  • Document all support activities, create technical guides, and contribute to IT knowledge base for site-specific solutions
  • Coordinate with external vendors for advanced repairs and collaborate with engineering teams on system integrations
  • Conduct regular security assessments and backups of critical manufacturing data systems
