Summary

This role is for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer, responsible for the specification, design, implementation and verification of high performance processor based circuit board assemblies.  You will conceptualize, design and develop products as part of a highly engaged and integrated engineering team. You will be the key technical focal point across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams creating solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. By collaborating with customers and broader engineering teams, you will influence electrical design strategy and methodology developments. As an electrical engineering technical expert, you will leverage advanced tools and simulation techniques to deliver high impact business results while acting as a technical leader and coach for other engineers.

  • Proven track record in full lifecycle design, including specification, implementation, and verification (experience)
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams in aerospace or high-reliability industries (experience)
  • Expertise in advanced simulation tools and methodologies for electrical systems (experience)
  • Strong understanding of aerospace standards (e.g., DO-254, MIL-STD) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications (e.g., IPC CID+) (experience)
  • 10+ years in aerospace electronics design with processor-based systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and design high-performance processor-based circuit board assemblies for aerospace applications
  • Specify component requirements and perform detailed schematic capture and PCB layout using industry-standard tools
  • Implement and verify designs through rigorous testing, simulation, and prototyping to ensure compliance with aerospace standards
  • Collaborate with customers, systems engineers, and firmware teams to integrate electrical solutions into broader aerospace systems
  • Lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and design trade studies to optimize performance, reliability, and cost
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices and emerging technologies
  • Drive innovation in electrical design strategies and methodologies to meet evolving customer needs
