  • Proven leadership experience supervising technical teams or laboratory operations (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques and instrumentation (e.g., chromatography, spectroscopy) (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace materials testing, quality standards (ISO 17025, AS9100), and safety protocols (experience)
  • Ability to obtain security clearance if required for sensitive projects (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or Materials Science (experience)
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or Laboratory Quality Management (experience)
  • 7+ years in aerospace chemistry lab support with experience in fuel systems or coatings (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and lead chemical analyses for aerospace components, including corrosion testing, plating qualification, and contaminant identification
  • Design, execute, and document laboratory experiments to validate material performance under extreme conditions
  • Supervise a team of technicians, assigning tasks, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations
  • Perform data analysis and interpretation using software tools like Excel, Minitab, or LabVIEW to support engineering decisions
  • Ensure laboratory compliance with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA)
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to develop new test methods and improve process efficiencies
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, managing inventory for chemicals and supplies
