Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Phoenix, AZ | Workplace: On-site | Honeywell

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and ensure 99%+ uptime.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of 5-10 maintenance technicians, conducting performance reviews, training sessions, and safety drills.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex facility issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.
  • Implement energy efficiency initiatives, such as retrofitting lighting systems and optimizing BMS (Building Management Systems), targeting 10-15% annual energy savings.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and vendors, to execute facility upgrades and expansions.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations through rigorous safety audits and documentation.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, procurement of parts, and inventory control to optimize costs without compromising quality.

  • Proven expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, EPA) and energy management standards (experience)
  • Ability to work on-site in Phoenix, AZ, with flexibility for on-call rotations (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or Engineering (experience)
  • CFM (Certified Facility Manager) or CMP (Certified Maintenance Professional) certification (experience)
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) like Maximo or UpKeep (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily facilities operations, including troubleshooting and repairing building systems to prevent disruptions
  • Lead team in executing scheduled maintenance, calibrations, and inspections for all mechanical, electrical, and structural components
  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies using data analytics and IoT sensors
  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend process optimizations
  • Manage vendor contracts, service requests, and emergency repairs to ensure rapid response times
  • Drive energy conservation projects, monitoring KPIs like utility usage and sustainability metrics
  • Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, budgets, and compliance for senior leadership
