Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Phoenix, AZ | Workplace: Hybrid (On-site required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of 5-10 maintenance technicians, conducting performance evaluations, training sessions, and scheduling to optimize workforce efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex facility issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques, including root cause analysis and predictive maintenance tools.
  • Implement energy conservation initiatives, such as retrofitting lighting systems and optimizing BMS (Building Management Systems), to reduce operational costs and support Honeywell's sustainability goals.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, safety, and operations, to execute facility upgrades, expansions, and emergency response protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and compliance documentation using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and local regulations through regular audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role (experience)
  • Proven expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems maintenance (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local building codes and regulations (experience)
  • Experience with CMMS software (e.g., Maximo, UpKeep) and predictive maintenance technologies (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work in a hybrid on-site environment in Phoenix, AZ (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFM (Certified Facilities Manager) or CPMM (Certified Property Maintenance Manager) certification (experience)
  • Experience in manufacturing or aerospace facilities maintenance (experience)
  • Knowledge of energy management systems (EMS) and LEED certification principles (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations, including scheduling work orders and responding to facility emergencies 24/7 as needed
  • Lead team in performing routine inspections, repairs, and upgrades on mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment life and reduce costs
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement process improvements using lean methodologies
  • Manage vendor contracts for specialized repairs and ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Drive energy efficiency projects, monitoring utility usage and recommending sustainable solutions
  • Prepare reports on facility performance, budget adherence, and safety metrics for senior leadership
