Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of complex fire alarm control panels, detection devices, and notification appliances.
  • Diagnose and repair system malfunctions using diagnostic tools, schematics, and Honeywell proprietary software to minimize downtime.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians, providing hands-on guidance during service calls and project deployments.
  • Conduct risk assessments, system inspections, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers to deliver customized solutions and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
  • Document all service activities, generate detailed reports, and update digital service records in Honeywell's CRM systems.
  • Stay current with industry advancements, recommending upgrades to enhance system reliability and integration with building automation systems.

  • NICET Level III or IV certification in Fire Alarm Systems or equivalent (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Fire Alarm Technician with lead or supervisory responsibilities (experience)
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Electronics, Fire Protection Technology, or related field preferred (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively (up to 75%) nationwide (experience)
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and fire alarm system layouts (experience)
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA 72, UL standards, and local fire codes (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Electrical Engineering (experience)
  • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Simplex, Notifier, EST) (experience)
  • Experience with integrated building management systems (BMS) and voice evacuation systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation, configuration, and testing of fire alarm systems, including panels, initiators, and annunciators, ensuring 100% functionality
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on digital/analog fire alarm systems using multimeters, programmers, and laptop interfaces
  • Supervise and train field service teams, conducting performance reviews and safety briefings on job sites
  • Execute system inspections, acceptance testing, and certifications per NFPA 72 and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements
  • Interface with customers to assess needs, provide technical recommendations, and deliver exceptional service to achieve high satisfaction scores
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, parts usage, and compliance documentation in Honeywell's service management platform
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades or integrations with security, HVAC, or suppression systems to enhance overall safety
