Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm control panels, detection devices, notification appliances, and interfacing systems in compliance with NFPA 72 and local AHJ requirements.
  • Diagnose and repair complex fire alarm system malfunctions using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and proprietary software, minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and deficiency reporting for fire alarm systems, preparing detailed documentation and as-built drawings for client handover.
  • Mentor and train junior field technicians on best practices, safety protocols, and Honeywell product lines, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to scope service needs, recommend upgrades, and integrate fire alarm systems with Honeywell's broader building automation ecosystem.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50-75% nationwide (experience)
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes (experience)
  • Proven ability to lead field teams and manage service projects (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Level IV certification (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell fire alarm systems (e.g., NOTIFIER, Silent Knight) (experience)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Technology or Electrical Engineering (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation and commissioning of advanced fire alarm systems including addressable panels, initiating devices, and voice systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair system faults using diagnostic software, oscilloscopes, and calibration tools
  • Conduct annual inspections and testing per NFPA standards, documenting results with digital reporting tools
  • Train and supervise junior technicians on installation techniques and safety procedures
  • Interface fire alarm systems with BACnet, Modbus, or Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI)
  • Prepare service quotes, change orders, and as-built documentation for client approval
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and AHJ regulations during field operations
