Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and integration of complex mission systems for aerospace platforms, including avionics, sensors, and communication subsystems.
  • Develop and validate system requirements using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools like Cameo Systems Modeler or DOORS.
  • Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and performance analyses to optimize system reliability, safety, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and test engineers, to deliver fully integrated solutions compliant with DO-178C and DO-254 standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence across international project teams.
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders to define mission objectives and ensure alignment with operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in mission systems engineering for aerospace or defense applications (experience)
  • Proven track record leading system architecture and integration for complex avionics or mission-critical platforms (experience)
  • Experience with systems engineering standards such as ARP4754A, DO-178C, and DO-254 (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage international cross-functional teams in hybrid environments (experience)
  • U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain security clearance for international defense projects (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related field (experience)
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent certification (experience)
  • Experience with digital mission systems, including AI/ML integration or cyber-secure communications (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design mission systems architectures for aerospace platforms, ensuring scalability and interoperability
  • Lead requirements definition, traceability, and verification using MBSE methodologies and tools
  • Perform system-level trade analyses, simulations, and risk mitigation to meet performance, safety, and certification goals
  • Oversee integration and testing of hardware, software, and firmware components in lab and flight environments
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission objectives and regulatory standards
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent while driving process improvements in agile development frameworks
  • Prepare technical documentation, briefings, and reports for customer reviews and program milestones
