Lead Project Management Specialist

Role Overview

As a Lead Project Management Specialist, you will spearhead complex, multi-phase projects from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Reporting to the Director of Program Management, you will mentor junior PMs, collaborate with cross-functional global teams, and leverage Honeywell's innovative tools to deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and milestone tracking for multimillion-dollar initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct regular status reviews, identify potential risks or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions using advanced project management methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, and PMI standards.
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with Honeywell's governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations using tools like Microsoft Project, Jira, and Tableau to communicate progress and insights.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean Six Sigma principles and driving process optimizations across project portfolios.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance on best practices and facilitating knowledge sharing within the PMO.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent (experience)
  • Experience with enterprise project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or Jira (experience)
  • Strong understanding of risk management, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Project Management or Business Administration (experience)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace or industrial automation sectors with international project exposure (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets using PMI methodologies to ensure on-time delivery
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, resolving conflicts and driving performance to meet KPIs
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks through proactive analysis and contingency planning
  • Manage procurement, vendor contracts, and third-party integrations while ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Deliver executive presentations and progress reports using data visualization tools like Tableau
  • Implement process improvements via Lean Six Sigma to optimize project efficiency and reduce costs
  • Mentor junior project managers and contribute to PMO best practices and training programs
