In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the successful execution and delivery of complex engineering projects within our Aerospace business unit. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of aerospace projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and manage project plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies using tools like MS Project or Primavera.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement process improvements to optimize operational efficiency and reduce project costs.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to define requirements, resolve issues, and ensure project alignment with business objectives.
  • Mentor junior engineers, promoting a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct technical reviews, gate reviews, and performance evaluations to advance project milestones.
  • Leverage data analytics and digital tools to enhance project visibility and decision-making.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in our Aerospace business.

  • 5+ years of experience in project engineering or leadership within the aerospace or defense industry (experience)
  • Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects from inception to delivery (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace systems, avionics, propulsion, or aircraft structures (experience)
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies such as PMI, Agile, or Stage-Gate processes (experience)
  • U.S. Person status (due to ITAR/EAR export control regulations) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA) (experience)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent (experience)
  • Experience with FAA certification processes or DO-178C/DO-254 standards (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams in executing aerospace engineering projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budget constraints
  • Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and risk registers to mitigate potential issues
  • Conduct design reviews, prototype testing, and validation activities for aerospace systems
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to integrate components and resolve technical challenges
  • Implement lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior leadership and customers
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent while fostering an innovative team culture
