Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for avionics or flight management systems (experience)
  • Proven track record in leading technical teams on complex aerospace projects (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, and ARP4761 (experience)
  • Strong understanding of flight dynamics, navigation algorithms, and aircraft performance modeling (experience)
  • U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain security clearance required (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or INCOSE certification (e.g., CSEP) (experience)
  • Experience with RTCA DO-297 for aircraft system integration and mixed-criticality systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end systems engineering process for Flight Management Systems, including requirements elicitation, allocation, and traceability using tools like DOORS NextGen
  • Design and develop FMS architectures, including 4D trajectory management, RNP/RNAV procedures, and contingency logic
  • Perform systems integration testing, validation, and verification in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Iron Bird environments
  • Conduct safety and hazard analyses (e.g., FHA, PSSA, SSA) to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards
  • Mentor cross-disciplinary teams and provide technical oversight for design reviews, code inspections, and certification artifacts
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities (FAA, EASA) to define and meet program requirements
  • Drive innovation through trade studies on emerging technologies like AI/ML for predictive flight optimization and sustainable aviation fuels integration
