Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and program CNC mills to produce complex precision parts, adhering to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration on CNC equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs to verify part conformance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize machining processes, reduce cycle times, and improve yield rates.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following Honeywell's safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE usage.
  • Document production data, tool setups, and process improvements in our ERP system for continuous enhancement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, to enhance overall productivity.

Summary

  • Experience with CNC programming using G-code and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) (experience)
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and perform quality inspections (experience)
  • Strong commitment to safety standards and manufacturing best practices (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyperson certification or Red Seal in Machinist trade (experience)
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC mills (4+ axis) and high-volume production (experience)
  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies or continuous improvement certifications (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC mills to machine tight-tolerance components from materials like aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel
  • Perform tool changes, offsets, and in-process adjustments to maintain production efficiency and part quality
  • Inspect machined parts using CMM, optical comparators, and other metrology tools, documenting results per ISO 9001 standards
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions, implement preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to develop and refine machining processes for new product introductions
  • Maintain accurate production records, including cycle times, scrap rates, and tool life in SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Participate in safety audits, kaizen events, and training to foster a culture of operational excellence
