Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and program multi-axis CNC machines (e.g., 5-axis mills, lathes) to produce complex aerospace parts from materials like titanium, Inconel, and aluminum alloys, ensuring tolerances within microns.
  • Perform advanced setup, tool path optimization, and first article inspections using CMM and precision gauging tools to meet AS9100 quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot machining processes, adjust feeds/speeds, and implement continuous improvements to reduce cycle times and scrap rates.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of machining equipment to maintain peak operational efficiency and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to review blueprints, develop fixturing solutions, and support prototype development for new product introductions.
  • Mentor junior machinists, share best practices, and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to drive team performance.
  • Ensure all work adheres to aerospace regulations, including ITAR, FAA, and Honeywell's stringent safety protocols.

  • Proficiency in programming and operating CNC multi-axis machines (e.g., Haas, Mazak, DMG Mori) (experience)
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace materials and AS9100 quality systems (experience)
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with reliable access to precision tools (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Manufacturing Technology or related field (experience)
  • NIMS or ASME certifications in CNC programming/machining (experience)
  • Experience with Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and grinders to machine tight-tolerance aerospace components
  • Program G-code and optimize toolpaths for efficiency and precision using CAM software
  • Inspect parts using CMM, micrometers, and optical comparators to verify conformance to specifications
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide manufacturability feedback on new parts
  • Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
