We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist - Level 4 to join our advanced manufacturing team in a key United States facility. This on-site role is pivotal in producing precision components for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other precision machining equipment to fabricate complex parts from materials like titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Interpret technical blueprints, GD&T specifications, and engineering drawings to produce parts within tight tolerances of ±0.0005 inches.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration on machining tools to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections using CMM, micrometers, and optical comparators, documenting results per AS9100 quality standards.
  • Program CNC machines using G-code and CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360 for optimized tool paths and cycle times.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to implement process improvements, reducing scrap rates and enhancing throughput.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE usage, in a lean manufacturing environment.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T (experience)
  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field (experience)
  • Journeyman Machinist certification or NIMS credentials (experience)
  • Experience with advanced materials machining (e.g., Inconel, composites) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC and manual machining centers to produce high-precision aerospace components meeting exact specifications
  • Develop and optimize machining programs using CAM software to reduce cycle times and material waste
  • Perform detailed quality inspections and maintain accurate records in accordance with Honeywell's quality management system
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, including tool wear, vibration, and dimensional inaccuracies
  • Maintain shop equipment through preventive maintenance and minor repairs to ensure operational reliability
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as kaizen events and lean manufacturing projects
  • Train and mentor junior machinists on best practices and safety procedures
