We are seeking a dynamic Major Projects Sales Representative to join our Building Automation team, focusing on the West Coast region (CA, OR, WA, AK). In this hybrid role, you will partner with general contractors, mechanical/electrical contractors, and consulting engineers to deliver cutting-edge Honeywell solutions for large-scale commercial and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and close major project sales opportunities exceeding $1M in value, targeting building automation systems for new construction and retrofit projects.
  • Conduct technical consultations and demonstrations of Honeywell's Niagara Framework, BACnet, and LonWorks-based automation solutions to influence project specifications.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers, including GCs, M/E contractors, and engineering firms, to secure preferred vendor status.
  • Develop customized proposals, value engineering analyses, and ROI models to differentiate Honeywell offerings in competitive bids.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, product management, and channel partners to ensure seamless project handoffs and customer satisfaction.
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in building codes (e.g., Title 24, ASHRAE standards) to inform sales strategies.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas while maintaining a robust pipeline via CRM tools like Salesforce.

  • Familiarity with building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Niagara N4) (experience)
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (experience)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within CA, OR, WA, AK region (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or MBA (experience)
  • NICET certification or CEM (Certified Energy Manager) (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell or competitor products (e.g., Johnson Controls, Siemens, Tridium) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue major project leads through networking, trade shows, and industry events
  • Perform site audits and needs assessments to recommend tailored building automation solutions
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to maximize profitability and customer value
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for solution design, quoting, and project execution
  • Deliver compelling presentations and training sessions to influence engineering specifications
  • Analyze sales performance metrics and adjust strategies to achieve revenue targets
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and forecasts in CRM
